What
is A Quarter Of?
When
we set up A Quarter Of we wanted to recreate the little sweetshop
at the end of our road when we were young (it was called "The
Chocolate Box"!). We missed the little shop where we took our
pocket money and spent what seemed like hours deciding what delights
would go in our little white paper bag,
We
have hunted down as many of the old favourites as we could that we
remember from our childhood (plus some that we had forgotten). We
are still adding more too!
The
Best Makes
Even more important than just finding the types of sweets, we have
hunted to find the sweets that taste just like we remember them. For
example... only Barratts Candy Shrimps taste like the pink chewy crustaceons
that we loved so much - so these are the only shrimps that we sell;
there is no Sherbet Lemon as good as the ones that Pascalls make (unwrapped,
dimpled outside, rich lemon taste and a burst of fizzy sherbet in
the middle) so they are the only ones that we stock; Jelly Babies
must be Bassetts (Liquorice Allsorts too), Milk Gums must be Maynards..... |

We
Test and Test... to Find the Best!
And we test dozens of other sweets to find the best tastes that we
can. Our fizzy cola bottles are the fizziest and sourest that we can
find, our double cherries are the softest and most succulent, our
pint pots are the juiciest - we want to get your nostalgia buds going...
we want you to love your sweets when you open your little white bags
and for the memories to come flooding back. |
