Description

The small but mighty mint imperial is not only a classic mint but a classic sweet full stop. These are the classic sweet. Bright white, round and smooth on the outside with a crunchy outer shell and cool powdery inside.

Whilst some people call these Imperial Mints (rather than mint imperials), I think we can all agree that whatever you call these they are a brilliant minty sweet. But do you crunch or do you suck, that's the question?

Mint Imperials are older than you may think, with the first mention of 'Imperial Mints' in Confectionary Journal back in the 1920s -  that makes them around 100 years old and they still look and taste as good as ever. Some people still refer to these at Scotch Mints!

Mint Imperials - the history

A staple of any sweet shop, we can all remember munching on these during a long car journey or perhaps, like me, your parents or grandparents used to carry around a secret bag of these for a special treat. Today, these are perfect to ensure you remain minty fresh but with a super tasty, moreish treat. Grab a bag and pop one (or two or three) in your mouth before business meetings, friendly lunches or even after dinner.Whilst Mint Imperials were originally completely round, they are now commonly a discoid shape (who knew that's what it was called?) and despite their rather glamourous sounding name, are quite a humble sweet. They look very unassuming (and, dare we say it) slightly boring compared to some of our other, bright, fizzy, different textured sweets. But don't be fooled, these are a classic, delicious, minty sweet. Don't forget to look at the rest of our mint sweet range at AQuarterOf - we've got everything from Fox's Glacier Mints to Humbugs. The Mint Imperial is the perfect sweet to have on you at any time, so why not stock up with us, especially as they’re Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-Free and Gelatine Free so you can offer them around without worrying!
