Cabana Bars

Cabana Bars

Cabana Bars made my Rowntrees, (and frequently stuffed in my Dads empty packed lunch box, along with loads of other "freebies"!, he worked there in the Export Dept) From memory coconut with a strawberry stripe in covered in chocolate, great bars, obviously not a patch on Texans or Nuttys Also Montegos, (Not the cars!), but chocolate bars, like clubs, but better, especially the orange ones!
And what about the Pacers Chew (green and white chewit like sweets) i remember when i split my wrist open at the corner shop ,the shop assistant asked me to chose anything in the shop to take my mind off the injury and i saw a family size bag and grabbed it lol, can anyone else remember them???

Cabana

Please can you find out who made, and what happened to Cabana's. They were milk chocolate bars with a moist coconut and cherry centre. The advert was brilliant too!!
Oh yeah, by theway I remember Hickory House, I think it had a character called Humphrey Cushion??

Cabana Bars

Gooey coconut with glace cherry bits covered in milk choccy about the size of a Topic, mmmmmmm they were lovely, and Pink Panther Bars - pink chocolate, quite crispy. what happened eh? regards R K
Oh, I was so traumatised by a Pink Panther bar. I remember being on the seat on the back of my mum's bike, eating away at my PP bar, when she went over a bump ad I dropped it onto the road. She wouldn't go back for it and I howled for hours. To this day I can still tell you exactly where it lay on that road - and this was some 32 years ago. The trauma of dropped sweets... (Cabana bars - the staple of every high school tuckshop!)

Well, thank goodness! I thought I was going nuts! I was searching on the web for Hickory House, please someone else say they know it, and I came across the "Whatever happened to" when I saw cabanas and texans, and amazing bars, well!!!! - I have signed myself out of the looney bin and plee to the manufacturers to BRING THEM ALL BACK, pretty please! Thank you!!

Are you sure you don't mean "Heckors House"?

CABANA BAR

Do you remember the CABANA BAR, a chewy mixture of coconut and cherry bits with a toffee layer on top covered in chocolate? I used to eat two a day for at least all my 6 week school holidays! What happened to this bar from heaven? If I could get it nowadays, I would surely stock up thanks from a suprisingly slim 47 year old!

cabana bar

Just wandering if you remember the "cabana bar"? Chocolate on the outside and coconut and cherry bits on the inside,I think? cheers p.s I also remember chewing gum that came in a gold sack with $$ signs on it,maybe they were called golden nuggets? thanks again

Cabanas

Whatever Happened to Cabanas? They were a coconut bar with mixed in cherries and a layer of toffee then covered in milk chocolate. Its made me the man I am today! Yours truly, R.K.

Cabana bars

Cabana bars were made by Cadbury and were withdrawn in the early 90s (I think) they were a posh bounty if I recall with a moist coconut and cherry centre topped with caramel and covered in Cadbury chocolate, my god I sound like an advert! Anyway they were delicious so bring them back Cadbury or I will stop buying flake............... by the box! RP Dorchester Dorset
Yes Cabanas were lovely Im so glad that someone else remembers them - I thought that I was going mad.

Cabana and Nutty Bars

Many moons ago there used to be two types of choc bars. One was called a cabana which had a coconut and cherry centre and chocolate covered . The other was called a nutty which had a fudge centre covered in soft toffee and encrusted with peanuts. These you can no longer buy. Do you have any ideas if you can still get them or have they been taken out of production. It would be great if you can find this out for me many thanks.

Cabana Bars

I loved Cadbury's Cabana bars, though I can't remember precisely what was in them. I do however, remember the use of the Banana Boat Song in the advertising ('Hey Mister Cadbury man, bring me a cabana...'). When were they discontinued? They must have had a very short lifespan. Ovaltine bars were a favourite of mine in the early eighties, but no-one else, other than my brothers, seems to remember that they ever existed. Basically, they didn't seem to be much more than a bar of chocolate with bits of Ovaltine powder in - slightly gritty but deliciously malty! Is there anything even vaguely similar to either of these products still in production anywhere? D.F.

Cabana

Coconut & cherry bar covered in chocolate

Cabana Bar

Cabanna Bar Chocolate coated with something chewy inside. It was also filled with fruit, pineapple, melon and other fruits. The advert for it was on TV. It had a distinctly carribean feeling to it.

Cabana's

Cabana's Think it was made by Terrys. Chocolate coated coconut bar with cherry centre. Superb, as I remember anyway. If you get this I'll buy 100!

My mum used to eat these when I was really small but I didn't like them. I got a bit older, developed a taste for them, couldn't stop eating them... Then they disappeared!!!! Gutted!!! Where can I get them from?

Cabanas - coconut with cherry(?) pieces certainly something pink, that was meant to be "fruit" and covered in milk chocolate.Do you do crisps too?? Whatever happened to Tudor crisps - example flavours, gammon, mild curry, tomato ketchup - all teeth suckingly sweet! Think walkers may have bought them over... Also 49ers a sort of mining- cart wheel-shaped maize snack, spring onion flavour. Wagon wheels - don't seem to be available anymore. Also a caramac-esque flavoured biscuit covered in chocolate - something gold(?) in the name. Also tutti-mintys the spearmint, peppermint, strong mint 3 shades of green square shaped sweets, minty cousin of tutti-fruttis (same shape, fruit flavoured) Also in Scotland we had penny dainties an individually wrapped toffee with the picture of a highland cow on the wrapping, not seen them for years. Await your reply with interest, because I could murder a cabana.... Lorraine Wells
