Turkish Delight Query

by michaelp

I used to get a small bar of Turkish Delight wrapped in gold foil. It was smaller and chewier than the Fry’s bar and was more red in colour. It was my favourite sweet when I was a child. I think it disappeared during the late 70′s or early 80′s? I can’t remember who made it.

Many thanks

Enda

My husband remembers a chocolate candy he ate, probably 40 years ago, that was dome-shaped and filled with a white (not liquid ) filling. He’s not sure if it came in a box. It was maybe an inch high.
Can you help?

Re some of the previous posts people have mentioned ovaltine bars and a cadbury’s bar that has different compartments of fillings (like a box of chocolates in a bar of chocolate!!) You can still get the chocolate bar in Australia where it is called Cadbury’s snack bar. There is another website that imports the snack bar and ovaltine bar and has floral gums too and chocolate bonbons but I don’t know if it’s fair to post it here so I wont. But hopefully it will hearten some of you that they are still made!!
But does anyone remember a cereal called puffa puffa rice. It had a picture of sweep’s girlfriend on the front of the box (from sooty and sweep). It was so much nicer than sugar puffs are -sorry I know it’s not a sweet!
