Hi I am really hoping you can tell me what happened to a sweet called: Matinee Selection by Maynards. I think I have the name and maker correct. The sweets were a type of Marzipan with a sugary coating. Thank you Stu
Matinee assortment
They were multi-coloured marzipan sweets with the odd fondant included. Some of the sweets had a firm jelly in them.
A selection of various coloured marzipan squares. Jelly were included and I seem to recal maybe another sweet but can not bring it to mind. Each of the marzipans was (approx) 2″ square, and I am sure that is not just memory playing tricks.
Marzipan sweets, each one almost a work of art, quite expensive….

I dream of those sweets. I would buy pounds of them if I could and lock myself away and scoff lots. The fondants can be bought in Lakeland shop.Creme Parisienne or something like that, but those are not the best ones. The strawberries were the best. Harrods marzipan fruits not nearly as good. And the last time I bought 10 sweets it cost£8!
