Galaxy Counters

Galaxy Chocolate Drops

by Mark Edwards

Do you by any chance remember the old Galaxy chocolate drops? They used to come in a white packet with a picture of a giraffe on. From my memory – this was maybe 30 years ago – they were glossy and more rounded that the Cadbury’s buttons. I think the packet was ‘landscape’ shape rather [...]

Revels

by Mark Edwards

Can you please tell me the name of 70′s chocolates in a white bag with a camel on the front. They were shaped like flat revels or minstrels but without the shell on. Many thanks. Beverley

Treats

by Mark Edwards

At the sake of stirring up controversy, I seem to remember there were originally 3 varieties of Treats: yes, the one everyone remembers are the peanut treats in the yellow bag; there was also a chocolate saucer-shaped version in a brown bag – the forerunner of Galaxy Counters; plus there was a toffee version, shaped [...]

Galaxy Counters

by Mark Edwards

Hi there, Just wondering whatever happened to Galaxy Counters?  They were slightly smaller than the counters you get in Revels and came in a wee white bag with I think either a Camel or a Giraffe on the front.  Thanks for your help. Kind regards. Sandie

Defo taste better than Revels, although I do know why some people mention them in the same breath. And certainly nothing like Milky Way Stars, they’re awful.

They where my fav, along with Smarties.

God I wish they where still produced, late 70s for me too………….hehe.

    Brilliant.

  4. Wendy remembers: -

At last – my husband thinks I’m mental. I remember these as well and they were gorgeous. Couldn’t remember the name of them!! I wish they would bring them back – Minstrels are fab but think I prefer these!

Galaxy Counters

by michaelp

These must have been around towards the end of the 60s `cos I can remember buying them at the Off License at the co-op and I wouldn’t have been allowed to go down the road on my own much before I was 6. They were little circles of Galaxy, slightly domed on both sides – [...]

  1. G remembers: -

I remember these well. I used to buy them all the time but galaxy wont package them up on their own anymore.. apparently you can find them in packets of revels.. but not the same :(

  2. Trazza remembers: -

I also tell my children about these sweets, I have no idea what happened to them but they were lovely! They must have been around late 60′s early 70′s.

From memory the closest taste I can find is Milky Way stars. Someone said they are like what you find in Revels but thats not the taste that I remember.

    Galaxy bring them back!

  3. Louise Hollow remembers: -

My god thats what they were!
I have been racking my brains for ever!
I remember eating them when I was little in the early 80′s – the taste is something I still remember much creamier than buttons
We must lodge a campaign to Galaxy to bring them back!

  4. mark davies remembers: -

My favourites sweets of all time! I remember eating them in 1978, just after Star Wars came out.

I remember the white packet with Animals on but couldn’t remember the name. Now I know. (I love the internet)

Have only ever met one other person who can remember them!

  5. sammy remembers: -

OMG! these were my favourite sweet of all time as a kid. used to cost 5p. i buy revels just to eat them ones…please please re-release them as the revels just arent quite the same.
same goes for treats, m&m versions dont taste as nice……

  6. Semic remembers: -

I’ve been asking people if they remember these for years, they were lovely! Don’t they still have them in bags of Revels?

I’d join a campaign to get them back :)
