aztec

Re Aztec To me Aztec was like a Mars bar but with the added bonus of Cadbury’s Chocolate. Given the popularity of Mars Bars (available in about 10 different sizes!) Cadburys really ought to re-introduce it. I’m fairly sure they did bring it back as a limited edition for a while. Maybe you could persuade [...]

Aztec bars

by Mark Edwards

These were made by Cadburys in late `60s. I think they were relaunched a few years ago then disappeared. Please give `Cadburys` a nudge to re-produce them and also `Supermousse` bars.   What happened to `Swiss Kit` those `Alpen` breakfast type bars? Not very healthy but they were delicious and the TV advert was good……….best wishes, [...]

Aztec Bars!

Aztec Bar

by Mark Edwards

About three or so years ago they were re-launched, after an absence of about 20 years ! They were on sale in my local Woolworths and I bought the remaining stock, (about 18 bars) andAte them with much relish over the next two months.  It must have been a limited launch as the next time [...]

Aztec Bars

These did come back for a while in the 90′s and were on sale for around 6 months or so. They weren’t the same and they did again disappear. Regards Sue

Do You Know ??

Do you know where I can get Aztec bars?

Aztec

It was like a Mars Bar but not as sickly because it had nougat instead of toffee. It had a purple wrapper and I think it was made by Cadbury’s. My father and I still talk about it!

  1. Steve H remembers: -

Didn’t it have both milk AND plain chocolate too ?
I think the main bar was plain, with milk along the top.

Aztec Bar

Like the top off a Double Decker. A bit Mars Bar-ish???

Aztec Bars….

These were re-issued again in the year 2000, but didn’t seem to last very long after that. Does anyone remember Cadbury’s Cabana bars (coconut choccie bar)? And Cadbury’s Gambit (a mixture of dark & milk chocolate)?

  1. Michael Denholm Maloney remembers: -

I remember both those bars (though I struggle to find anyone else who does). If I remember correctly, the Cabana bar had a cherry centre or filling.

  2. Martin remembers: -

I remember them both. The advert for the Gambit was a man who took a bite out of his gambit, and then picked a rainbow out of the sky and used it as a bridge to cross a canyon. They were 15p.

Aztec Bar

Made by Cadburys and, we think, launched to coincide with the 1970 World Cup (the one where Brazil scored that fabulous goal – Carlos Alberto I think). Not sure how long it lasted after that – lots of people seem to remember it fondly but it has long since gone.

  1. anon remembers: -

they had raisins in them – they were lush

  2. Nick Thomas remembers: -

Aztec was Cadburys’ “mee too” response to Mars. Cadburyworld in Birmingham used to have a large murial in its advertising archive and there, in the corner, was – yes! – one forlorn, embarrassed looking Aztec wrapper. And now, even that’s not there. Are they ashamed?!
