Whatever happened to the ORIGINAL Texan Bars?
They taste like caramel coated in chocolate and nothing like the chewy nougat, chocolate covered bars we had before.
I have a great 'tip'. If you put a Cadbury's Double Decker in the frigde till the top part has gone hard and slice off the top nougat layer, you have what I think tastes like the ORIGINAL Texan Bars. Honestly it really does. Please try it and see for yourselves.

Just surfed onto your site and had a trip down memory lane when I looked on the 'Whatever Happened To' pages - Texan bars!!!! My goodness, my sisters and I used to love those bars! Do you remember the advert on TV? It was a scene of a cowboy in a bit of a predicament with some local Mexican gangsters. One of them asks the cowboy, "A last request gringo?". The cowboy asks for a Texan bar but it takes so long for him to eat it - the emphasis is placed on him taking his time chewing, that the Mexican soldiers fall asleep and the cowboy escapes! Brilliant!!!!

Very hard chewy centre bar with chocolate coating that almost breaks off in pieces as the center is so hard!

The chewiest chocolate covered bar ever made. Guaranteed to rip your fillings out :) and probably banned for damaging teeth... used to eat loads of them, ahh happy days ;)

Texan Bars
Texan is our most requested chocolate bar. Texan was a chewy nougat centre covered in milk chocolate. It was made by Macintoshes (now part of Nestle). Texan was launched in the mid 1970's and disappeared in the mid 1980's.

Just a thought for those, like me, who have Texan Bar withdrawals - if you bite the 'crispies' off a double decker bar you have the closest thing we have to a Texan bar.!!
