i used to always buy secret bars as a kid and have hunted shops over the years and have never come across them. Is there anywhere that sells them or are you going to bring them out again as they where the best chocolate you have made.

Kind Regards

Oh my god today has been such a funny day, for years I have been trying to explain secret bars to people and no one, not one person knew what I was on about, the blank looks the nodding but not really getting it.... but today I have found others that understand the secret bar! The birds nests type chocolate topping and so on! Bring it back, bring it back..... now if only I could find someone who remembers SKY chocolate icecreams! Chocolate aero/whisper type chocolate bar surrounded by vanilla icecream all held together with another fab layer of chocolate! Yummmmeeee

Do you remember Secret Chocolate Bar?

Description: The Secret Chocolate bar was made by Nestlé in the 80's and 90's and was one of the most delicious treats ever. It had a sort of bird's nest chocolate outer with a creamy mousse center similar to the inside of a Walnut Whip. They came in a white protective card sleeve and apparently had a gold wrapper with the word Secret written on it in purple.

The television advert featured an elegant lady sat on a train eating her Secret bar 'in secret' with the accompanying music "I see her face everywhere I go... Have you seen her?..."

Unfortunately the Secret Chocolate Bar was withdrawn from sale due to the high production costs and low volume of sales.

The were awesome. The were discontinued in '96!

Posted by: Kevin on July 6, 2006

I heard that they withdrew them due to costing a lot to produce and obviously not selling enough. They were expensive tho.

Posted by: Leanne on July 16, 2006

I cannot , cannot believe I have found others who remember the Secret bar! I'm so tired of getting that blank look, or the "oh well it must have only been in Ireland" comment when I mention them. They were the yummiest, scrummiest things ever produced, and it's a crying shame that they were haulted in production. If anyone knows where to get them, or if you still can get them, please, please post here and let us all share the pleasure!

These were called Shandies and were made by a company called Welches in North Shields, unfortunately they have gone out of business now.

Sshh - Secret

A chocolate bar called 'Secret' made from thin chocolate strips, with a creamy centre, on the market about 15years ago.

Posted on August 8, 2005

They were great, they looked like a chocolate shredded wheat with a marshmallow centre. I've been banging on and on about these for years but nobody believes ne that they ever existed. I'm having the same problem with galaxy truffle eggs, why did they ever stop making them? You can get small ones in celebrations but it aint the same.

loved those bars, have no clue why they stopped selling them. i think they were made by the mars bar people

WOW I CAN'T BELIEVE THERE'S A PERSON OUT THERE THAT HAS BEEN THROUGH EXACTLY THE SAME THING AS ME TRYING TO EXPLAIN 'SECRETS' AND 'SKY' BARS TO PEOPLE. I ALWAYS ASSOCIATED THE 2 BARS WITH EACH OTHER FOR SOME REASON AND FOR EMMA TO MENTION THE 2 IN THE SAME POST BLEW MY MIND!!! WE SHOULD GET TOGETHER AND SEARCH THE EARTH FOR THEM LOL!
NOW IF THERE WAS ONLY SOMEONE OUT THERE THAT REMEMBERED A CAN OF POP CALLED 'QUATRO' FROM THE EARLY 80'S

Chocolate bar in a gold wrapper with blueish purpley joined up writing saying secret. Opened it up to reveal a cardboard sled that it sat in. Chocolate bar was round and was made out of strands of round chocolate in like a log shape and in the middle was like a chocolatey type mousse!

I am trying to remember a chocolate bar I was hooked on in the mid eighties - sounds similar to the secret bar in that it was thin rectangular and creamy tasting but I am sure it has a blue wrapper and was called something else....any ideas out there?!

Cadburys secret bar

Cadburys secret bar - spiral wired chocolate over a soft creamy something. I can remember them vaguely. Any ideas what happened to that?
Or the wispa.

I remember going on a walk with the cubs and having some boiled sweets - blackcurrant and liquorice (but they were round balls) and I often had small fruity boiled sweets that were about the size and shape of a double thick 1p piece. Any ideas what they were???
