These are the candies that were sold in bottles a long time ago. They are now made in Malaysia. These are imported into the US and are available at spiced.com.

they sell similar in australia but named 'ovalteenies' as our horlicks type drink is named ovaltine.

Ovaltine and Horlicks coexist in some markets and are not quite the same thing. Ovaltine has chocolate in it (which some Horlicks variants have but not the original). I just found some "Horlicks tablets" on a trip to Hong Kong but I haven't seen either variety in Australian in "tablet" form but I have bought both as powder. I'll have to keep looking.

Horlicks tablets

I think they were made of the same stuff as the powder you use for making the drink. Used to be sold in chemists.

You can still get Horlicks Tablets on the WWW. Horlicks tablets are now packaged in foil, the bottle is gone.

I used to love horlicks tablets but they seem to have died a death here now. I would love to get some if they are still available. I will keep searching for them although eveyone tells me they no longer exist. Why don't they start and make them again?
