Ginger Ale Bottles - we`ve only just found these sweets but they taste incredibly nostalgic.  I`m not sure if they were available in our local sweetshop when I was young, but they bally well should have been!

They are boiled sweets in the shape of, you guessed it, a bottle... quite large (well long actually) - you couldn't eat more than one at a time - but best of all is the taste.  They have a wonderfuly spicy ginger flavour, not hot but a definite ginger warmth... a bit like 'proper' ginger beer really (I used to make homemade ginger beer when I was young, it involved creating a `plant` which I had to feed each day with ginger and sugar.  It was always incredibly fizzy.  I made it until I was banned from doing so... when we came back from holiday one year all of the bottles that I`d stached in my bedroom - old glass bottles - had exploded.  Took me weeks to clean the place.)

Long story short... these are really good.  And a lot less hassle than making your own!

20 Apr 2013Fizzy, warm and just the right intensity of ginger. I will certainly be getting these first in for my next order!  
15 Mar 2013Had never tried these before. So glad I did. Ginger can be hit and miss, a sweet can either be overpowering or not enough zing. These reminded me of a long cool glass of ginger beer, just the right amount of ginger and with a little fizz too. Definitely worth a try. 
15 Mar 2013These are a really strange but very tasty sweet. You start off thinking"that's o.k but not very gingery" and then they start to warm up and get warmer and more gingery as they get smaller but not so it's overpowering. Bought for my other half & he loves them.
