The End Of Wham Bars… For Now At Least
Sadly the company that made Wham Bars (and Highland Toffee too) stopped production last month (September 2011) and has since gone out of business.
You can see more information about the demise of Millar McCowans, for the 3rd time in six years, here
As you can imagine, this means that supplies have been nigh on impossible to get hold of… even for us… and so it is likely that, once our current stock has run out, we won’t be able to get hold of any more.

Will We See Wham Bars Again?
Wham Bars Now Have A New Owner
The good news is that Tangerine Confectionery, who own brands such as Bassetts and Barratts, have bought the Wham and Highland Toffee brands and rumour is that they will start producing them at their York factory.
But we have no news as to when production is due to start. It seems exceptionally unlikely that it will be before 2012 at the very earliest (my best estimate, not based on any insider information!)
What You Should Do If You Love Wham Bars
We genuinely don’t think that we are going to be able to get any more stocks of either Wham Bars or Highland Toffee before Tangerine restart production.
And we have no idea when Tangerine will start making Wham Bars. But given that the factory where they were made previously in Scotland has been shut down… and that production will have to be moved to York… and that it’s almost certainly too late now to start production in time for Christmas sales… we think this will probably be on 2012 at the very least.
So if you love Wham Bars, and you don’t want to be without your favourite for a unknown period of time (and no-one outside of the manufacturers can even guess how long it might be) then our advice is…
